Description
Histazine Anti-Allergy Syrup contains Cetirizine hydrochloride 5mg in each 5mL of the syrup. This is an anti-allergic medicine that provides symptomatic relief of the following conditions:
perennial rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, sneezing, rhinorrhoea, hay fever and skin allergies.
It is a non-drowsy anithistamine medication, with a long duration of action. It is a banana, vanilla and strawberry flavoured, clear and colourless syrup in a 60mL amber glass bottle.
Dose of Histazine Anti-Allergy Syrup:
Adults and children over 6 years old:
Take 10mL once a day or 5mL two times a day, after food.
Children between 2 and 6 years old:
Take 5mL once a day or 2.5mL two times a day, after food.
Caution:
- Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to cetirizine or any of the other medicines from the piperazine family. Some of them include: buclizine, cyclizine, levocetirizine and meclizine.
- Do not take this medicine if you are already taking medicines that contain other antihistamines. Such medicines include those used for the relief of colds and coughs.
- It should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment, urine retention, severe liver disease, epilepsy or at risk of convulsions.
- Avoid the use of alcohol during treatment with Histazine Anti-Allergy Syrup. This is because it can increase the tendency of drowsiness or dizziness and difficulty in concentration.
- If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to get pregnant, you must consult your doctor, pharmacist or healthcare provider before use.
Storage of Histazine Anti-Allergy Syrup:
- Keep this medicine out of reach and sight of children.
- Protect it from heat and direct light.
- Do not store this medicine above 30°C.
- Store it in its original container.
- Do not use this medicine if visible signs of deterioration are seen. They include: change in colour, offensive odour and particles in the syrup.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month stated.
