Description
Folic acid 5mg tablets are indicated for the treatment of megaloblastic anaemia due to folic acid deficiency. They are also used for prophylaxis in chronic haemolytic states, in renal dialysis, and in drug induced folate deficiency.
They are used to treat folate deficiency anaemia caused by poor diet,
poor absorption of food (such as in celiac disease
or a digestive disorder called sprue) or increased
use of folate in the body (as in pregnancy).
Folic acid 5mg tablets are also used to prevent recurrence of neural tube defects.
